The Spice Trail — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
In short
The Spice Trail collects no personal information. It has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts and nothing to buy inside the game.
What stays on the device
The voyage in progress, the Naturalist's Journal, the Chronicle's pages, the Halls of Fame and the settings are saved on the device only (and in the device's own backups, if they are turned on). The names typed in the game for the captain and the ship's page never leave the device.
The game reads aloud with a voice made on the device itself. It does not use the microphone, the camera, the location, the contacts or the photos.
Game Center (optional)
If the device is signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game sends two kinds of score to its Game Center leaderboards: a voyage's final score when the fleet comes home, and the weight of a fish the player lands. They appear under the player's Game Center nickname. Nothing else is sent. When Game Center is signed out, nothing leaves the device.
Game Center is a service of Apple, covered by Apple's privacy policy. Children under 13 can use Game Center only with a child account that a parent sets up, and parents can turn Game Center off in the device's Screen Time restrictions.
Children
The game is made for children aged 6 to 10, and is designed so that no personal information about a child is collected, stored by us or shared.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its date.
